Question:

“I am so busy putting all of my clients businesses first, I find that I’m ignoring my passions… too much brain space is taken up with their stuff [which I still enjoy doing], but the time I have to give to my passion has dwindled to me thinking about it. How do I find the time to move from thinking to doing?” Andrea

Ah… Hun… I hear you…

Finding time for your passions [when you have a whole lot of clients to keep happy] is a real challenge!

Often I find that when I get busy… I tend to park the indulgent passions [the ones that feel so good, that I wonder if they are somewhat sinful], in order to meet the deadlines that are looming.
After all… how do I justify “playing”, when there are so many people relying on me to deliver stuff to them?

I have caught myself feeling guilty for wanting to go to the loo, let alone taking a bit of “me” time to work on my passions!!!

So… what do I do when the urgent To Do’s scream for my attention?

More and more…

I’m finding that if I put little pockets of time aside [even when I’m busy] to do the things I love…

a little 5 minutes of play between working on two clients projects… a note captured in between two meetings… even a splash of art between bathing my boy and making supper…

[Hey, I even wrote this in between all my chaos… 5 minutes at a time!]

I‘m energised afterwards… and ready to tackle the next task with more vigour.

…AND…

a week / month down the line, I find myself marvelling at what I managed to do in all those little pockets!

Like getting this article out to you!!!

If I don’t use my ‘pockets’…

When I don’t use my pockets of time to do things that bring me joy…

I often find…

I’m tired,

I’m stressed,

…and not productive…

So, pockets of time result in a win-win all round [minimising the stress, whilst finding joy, and being more productive]

NOW… You’ve taken about 2 minutes to read this email…

…take another 2 minutes to let us know what awesome things you plan to do with all those pockets of time!

While you’re at it…

Why not grab another 5 minutes, and start something really awesome!

Ps… You can also use your pockets of time to overcome creative blocks, whilst exploring your creativity.
