What is “Everyday Inspirers”?
Let’s meet Chelsea…
On one of many travels through many incredible blogs, I stumbled across Chelsea’s Lovely Indeed website…
Its always great to see another blogger who has turned her passion into a business, and I thought – wouldn’t it be great to get to know how she gets inspired to create, and what life is like as a maker…
Q. How are you serving the world?
A. I run a blog called Lovely Indeed, where I focus on a DIY lifestyle and all of the joy that comes along with it!
I do my best there to inspire readers to find the loveliness that is all around them, and to get their hands a little dirty while creating lovely things..
Q. What was that Tipping point for you – that led you to make the change?
A. When my husband proposed, I became immersed in the world of blogs while looking for wedding inspiration.
I decided to start my own blog to document all of the DIY aspects of our own wedding, and somehow the blog took on a life of its own.
Soon I found I was making wonderful friends in the blogging world and being offered opportunities to make money at this venture.
It enabled me to bring really high quality content to my readers, and to flex my creative muscles in so many un and incredible ways.
I’m grateful every day that I fell into this line of work!.
Q. Can you tell us about the little things you do, to keep inspired/creative?
A. Travel is my main source of inspiration, and I’m lucky to have a husband who likes to go on adventures with me!
We love to go anywhere and everywhere, for long spans of time or just day trips to get a fresh perspective on things.
When I’m feeling stuck in a rut, we make sure to get out of the house and explore a place that we find inspiring.
We take a camera, our phones, and now our tiny son, who’s becoming an adventurer with us!.
Q. Who are your favourite everyday inspirers?
A. My friends in the blog world are endlessly inspiring and have such a wealth of creativity.
Ashley at Sugar & Cloth comes up with the most beautiful, fresh projects. Kelly from Studio DIY has this adorable sense of humor that comes across in her work, and it’s so fun to see what she’s going to do next.
And Brittany from The House that Lars Built is never afraid to tackle larger projects that make my head spin with possibilities.
Q. What is the single biggest life hack [that has saved your butt/given you your life back – over and over again !]?
A. It might be cliche, but my iPhone is an absolute lifeline.
Now that I have a little one, I do all kinds of work on it while I feed him.
I compose blog posts, edit photos, share things on social media, make lists, plan projects, and more.
I couldn’t do my job without it.
Q. When times get tough, how do you overcome fear and self doubt?
A. It’s easy to get bogged down in comparison when you work online.
There’s a constant stream of information and images coming at you, and they’re getting more and more beautiful.
The best way for me to stop doubting what I’m doing when I’m overwhelmed is to step away from social media for a bit.
When I stop comparing myself to what others are doing, I have a more clear picture of my goals and my vision for a project.
I love social media, but it can be a bit crippling in the way that it presents a very narrow, edited view of life..
Q. The quote I live by:
A. If you want to be happy, be. -Tolstoy
Want to connect with Chelsea?
Did you have any aha moments whilst reading this interview?
This post reminded me about we tend to get caught up in all the shiny pretty objects that everyone puts out there, instead of focusing on our own Awesomeness! I also really like the idea of roping the family into my inspiring adventures…
How were you inspired?
