If you’re like me… July is one of those months where we realise that it’s already half way through the year, and [more than likely] we have lost track of the goals we set for 2015!
I think that this is especially true… when we are hit with the joys of June… June just seems to be one of those crazy months for me!
Its found me trying to crank out work in between public holidays, birthday celebrations, Father’s Day celebrations…
…and I’m about to start celebrating the school holidays [a month long of trying to juggle work and nunu…eek!!!].
Sometimes it’s hard enough keeping up with family life, let alone all the things we need to do to keep business operating!
Whilst chatting to my DreamDoers , they were saying that the often struggled with the balance between working IN their business and ON their business.
We find it is easy to get caught up in the day to day things, the long list of ToDo’s, the finding of awesome clients, and the marketing of our business, and then there’s delivering on all our promises too!
And then we get presented with a shiny new opportunity… our heads are filled with ideas, and there is no time to get it all done.
And all of a sudden… we are half way through the year!!!
So… How is this half-way mark looking for you?
One of the biggest complaints I hear… is that people are so roped up getting stuff done, that there isn’t much time to work on the forward thinking stuff!
Yip… The To Do list often get’s in the way of the big dream… if we let it!
So… What can we do about it?
Here are three things I do, to help me get clear and they will help you get back on track TODAY:
- Do a little work ON your business [get clear on where you’re going]
- Make “Doing” your dream a daily habit!
- Get someone to hold you accountable
1. Work ON your Business
Working ON your business [instead of working IN your business] is all about getting focused again.
Which kinda means that we need to Pause.
We need to take a fresh look at how we want to DO Business.
We get clarity onthe dream.
… and we plot the way forward!
Lately, I find that when I have focus and clarity… a lot of the “busy-ness” activities fade away, and then its all about finding balance between the daily stuff and the big stuff!
Which brings me to…
2. Make Dream doing a daily habit!
By putting aside a few minutes each day [it could be 5 minutes, 30 minutes or even an hour] you’ll be that much closer to making your dream happen [than if you did nothing].
So, let’s really break it down…
If I give just 5 minutes of each day towards my dream… I would have tackled 905 minutes [roughly 15 hours] of dream doing activities by the end of the year!
If I give just 30 minutes of each day towards my dream… I would have tackled 5430 minutes [roughly 90 hours] of dream doing activities by the end of the year!
If I give just 5 minutes of each day towards my dream… I would have tackled 10 860 minutes [roughly 180 hours] of dream doing activities by the end of the year!
Pretty incredible… right?

3. Getting a little help along the way
Whilst there are times that I feel like a machine… strong… and continually producing incredible stuff, there are also a lot of times when I don’t.
We all have those times, and I would suggest that you build a strong support base around you… friends, masterminds, coaches, or colleagues.
Have people in your corner, that you can bounce ideas off of, or just ask them to hold you accountable to delivering on the awesome stuff you have dreamt of doing!
